K. Gretchen Greene’s Riptideย three-part table baseย ofย welded steel, lacquer, and plasma cutting techniques,ย recalls the organic forms and sinuous movements of water. The base can be assembled in various ways, with its three pieces tightly placed, or with more room between them. Various sized glass table tops maybe fit. The table may also be assembled as a console.
K. Gretchen Greene is a steel sculptor who works out of the Artisanโs Asylum in Somerville, MA. Educated at Yale, Princeton, Oxford, Greene has also been a U.S. Department of Energy mathematician, a ship designer, a Hollywood animator, a cave explorer, and an environmental and corporate lawyer.
Greeneโs work is included in private collections internationally and is in institutional collections including the Providence Childrenโs Museum, Oberlin College, University of California at Los Angeles, and Ventura Unified School District.
