Enfield Pottery and Tile Company, Pair of Monumental Terracotta Urns, USA, c. 1915
A pair of monumental terracotta urns made by the Enfield Pottery and Tile Company. The urns were originally placed in front of Louis Comfort Tiffanyโs Dream Garden (1916), a mosaic interpretation of a Maxfield Parrish painting. These stunning, elegant urns reference classical Greek pottery with their ovoid forms, narrow necks, and flared rims. The urns are extremely thick, strengthened by grog.
